Skating Lessons Gamma 7

Prerequisite, passed Beta. 

Skaters must demonstrate both right and left outside edge 3-turns with speed and clear entrance/exit edges. Both mohawks must be tested in the mohawk step sequence with appropriate speed. Skaters should come to a complete stop with a 90 degree turn to pass the hockey stop. The mohawk sequence is the most difficult element in this level!

Participants will start in Alpha and progress to Delta. The difficulty of each skill will increase with each level. Some of the skills you will learn include right and left outside edge 3-turns, bunny hops, backward crossovers and more. If you have not participated in Community Education’s Skating Lessons in the past, you must register for Tots or Pre-Alpha first. Skaters are evaluated regularly and when the Skating Director feels a skater has mastered all of the skills in their level, they will be moved up to the next level/class. Skaters must officially test out of each level and demonstrate skills in accordance with ISI national testing standards.
