Ice Skating Lessons
We are excited to announce that Hannah Fowler has stepped into the role of Skating Supervisor! As we continue rebuilding our skating program, we are seeking a qualified ISI Skating Supervisor and assistant coaches to help assess and advance skaters. This is needed to continue the section for fall. Our goal is to restore and grow the program while providing a positive skating experience for participants of all ages. Middle School Boys Soccer Entering Grades 6-8
1541-SU26A: Entering Grade 6 1541-SU26B: Entering Grade 7 1541-SU26C: Entering Grade 8 Middle School Soccer is a fun and fast-paced recreational league where players build essential skills like dribbling with both feet, trapping, passing, and receiving while also diving deeper into game strategies, team positioning, and both offensive and defensive play. All practices and games take place at Forest Lake Area Middle School (FLAMS). This program is designed as a recreational course centered on skill development and in-house competition. Organized games will include referees, with teams competing against one another on campus rather than traveling to other schools. Please note: Registration ends September 1st at 11:59pm. Middle School Volleyball Entering Grades 6-8
1552-FA26A: Girls Entering Grades 6 1552-FA26B: Girls Entering Grade 7 & 8 1552-FA26C: Boys Entering Grades 6 1552-FA26D: Boys Entering Grades 7 & 8 Middle School Volleyball is a fun and recreational league. Volleyball basics include six key skills: serving, passing, setting, hitting (or spiking), blocking and digging. The coaching staff will be diving deeper into game strategies, team positioning and both offensive and defensive play. The focus is on learning the game, building teamwork, and having a great time; while playing at least one game per week.6th Grade: Monday/Wednesday 7th & 8th Grade: Tuesday/Thursday All practices and games take place at Forest Lake Area Middle School (FLAMS). Our Girls Middle School Basketball program is all about building strong fundamentals and boosting confidence on the court, this program is a recreation/competitive league designed for all skill levels. Players will focus on key skills like dribbling with both hands, proper shooting form, sharp passing, and more. We'll also introduce advanced concepts such as offensive and defensive strategies, court positioning, and a deeper understanding of the rules. Whether you're new to the game or looking to improve, this is the place to grow and compete! All practices and games take place at Forest Lake Area Middle School (FLAMS). This program is designed as a recreational course centered on skill development and in-house competition. Fencing Team Ages 13-18
En Guarde! Fencing is a sport of strategy, skill, decision making and athleticism unlike any other; not to mention it’s rich in history and tradition! Train and compete in the fastest growing youth sport in the country! Chisago Lakes and Forest Lake Community Education programs have combined to build this dynamic team of competitive fencers. Represent your school while fencing for Minnesota Sword Play, coached by Kailan Benford. Experienced and beginner fencers are welcome. The competitive season runs October - February, includes 4-5 optional tournaments and provides an opportunity to fence against athletes from all over Minnesota. Participants are responsible for purchasing regulation approved electronic equipment (for competition only, practice equipment provided) and for all tournament fees and transportation. Come to our informational meeting Tuesday, October 28 at Forest View Elementary Media Center. Practice will be held 2x per week at Forest View Cafeteria or FLAS Education Center Cafeteria (5:30-7:30pm on Tuesday evenings) and Chisago Lakes WCC (3-5pm on Saturday afternoons). -
