Forest Lake Area Community Orchestra Age 15-AdultMusic & DanceThe Forest Lake Area Community Orchestra is open to all levels of musicians who play traditional string instruments (violin, viola, cellos, bass) and enjoy practicing and performing in an orchestra! The purpose of the group is to contribute positively to the musical environment of the Forest Lake area community. We will enjoy reading and playing a repertoire of varied styles ranging from string standards to inspiring contemporary pieces. Under the direction of Dave Livermore, the orchestra will perform at various venues (to be announced) in the community. No audition required. The Community Orchestra meets most Mondays throughout the school year.Fall 2026 -
Holiday Lights TourLINK - Adults With DisabilitiesJoin us for an evening of holiday lights and decorations as we drive around admiring the holiday decorations in the Forest Lake area. Of course, no holiday event would be complete without hot chocolate and cookies to keep us warm! For those providing their own transportation, we will meet you at the Education Center cafeteria at 6:00 pm - 943 9th Ave SW, Forest Lake, enter door #4 on the east side of the building. Moving & GroovingLINK - Adults With DisabilitiesWe are going to do some moving and grooving together! We’ll start with some walking, stretching and warm up Yoga and then moving on to Cardio Drumming! CE Instructors Suzanne McCardle (Yoga) and Shelly Berry (Cardio Drumming) will lead us through some good for us movement and exercise! Drumsticks will be provided. Pickleball Club - Adult Co-edSports & RecreationPlayers of all experience levels are invited to join the club! Players rotate in and out of games to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play. Individual players are welcome to participate in pick-up games. Bring your own paddle or borrow one of ours. Players should wear comfortable clothes, athletic shoes and bring a bottle of water. Pickleball Lessons - BeginnerSports & RecreationJoin the fastest growing sport in America by learning to play pickleball. This beginner class is designed as a drill and play format. You will learn how to keep score, serve and return the serve along with hitting forehand, backhand, dinking, lobbing and court strategies. This course is taught with passion and humor by PPR Coach and multi-Gold Medalist, Michael Lammer. Wear comfortable clothes, athletic shoes and bring a bottle of water. Sewing Machine Quick-Start Age 16-AdultClasses & ActivitiesIf you've never used a sewing machine before or if it’s been years, this is a great class to take first! You’ll learn how to thread a sewing machine and sew a straight line as well as techniques for machine handling that are frustrating to figure out on your own. Get comfortable with the sewing machine and practice your skills. You are welcome to and may find it helpful to bring your own sewing machine if it is in working order.Fall 2026
