The Foxtrot is a classic American jazzy dance that shows off the attitude and style of Big Band and Jazz music through the years. Swing was developed in the 30s and 40s and is one of the most energetic and versatile of the rhythm dances.

Whether you are the bride and groom, part of the bridal party or a guest at a wedding, this workshop will give you the skills needed to look great out on the dance floor. Basic steps and some fun patterns will be covered in Waltz, Swing, Nightclub Two Step and Slow Dance. This is a great way for the entire wedding party to have fun and get the dancing started with style!

The Forest Lake Area Community Band is open to all levels of musicians who play woodwind, brass or percussion and enjoy practicing and performing in a band! The band's purpose is to contribute positively to the musical environment of the Forest Lake area community. We will enjoy reading and playing a repertoire of varied styles ranging from traditional compositions for band to inspiring contemporary pieces. Under the direction of Jake Matheson, the band will perform at various venues (to be announced) in the community. No audition required. The Forest Lake Area Community Orchestra is open to all levels of musicians who play traditional string instruments (violin, viola, cellos, bass) and enjoy practicing and performing in an orchestra! The purpose of the group is to contribute positively to the musical environment of the Forest Lake area community. We will enjoy reading and playing a repertoire of varied styles ranging from string standards to inspiring contemporary pieces. Under the direction of Dave Livermore, the orchestra will perform at various venues (to be announced) in the community. No audition required. The Community Orchestra meets most Mondays throughout the school year.
