Level 7 Swim Lessons Age 6 & upAquatics: Learn to Swim Levels 1-7 - Age 6 & upPrerequisite: Level 6 In Level 7, participants continue refining all strokes—front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke and sidestroke—with an emphasis on swimming them more efficiently and powerfully over longer distances. Training becomes more structured and fitness-focused, often including: workouts to build endurance and speed, turns to improve efficiency at the wall and the use of training tools like pace clocks, pull buoys and fins. The butterfly stroke is introduced at this level. Level 7 serves as a transition into more advanced and competitive swimming, helping participants build endurance, technique and training habits used in swim teams. This program is a recreation/competitive league that focuses on skill development including dribbling with both hands, proper shooting techniques and passing while also learning more in depth about game play positioning, offensive/defensive techniques and rules. All practices and games take place at Forest Lake Area Middle School (FLAMS). This program is designed as a recreational course centered on skill development and in-house competition. Minnesota Biome HikeSpecial InterestThis two-mile guided nature walk will allow you to experience habitats found within the three biomes of our state. A Minnesota Master Naturalist will guide you through a tamarack bog, oak woodland and restored prairie and describe the plant communities, creatures and ecological processes present. You will set up a trail camera and learn how to age trees. Stop to rest, listen and look for birds as well as other animals living in this forest.
