Join us for an evening of holiday lights and decorations as we drive around admiring the holiday decorations in the Forest Lake area. Of course, no holiday event would be complete without hot chocolate and cookies to keep us warm! For those providing their own transportation, we will meet you at the Education Center cafeteria at 6:00 pm - 943 9th Ave SW, Forest Lake, enter door #4 on the east side of the building. Calling new and returning students! The Engineering For Kids Jr. STEM Club introduces students to a new, hands-on lesson every week from various engineering disciplines. Students focus on developing skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and peer collaboration. These life skills provide students with the confidence to approach challenges in their lives and realize that they can succeed in almost anything! Engineering for Kids has a library of 300+ individual lessons which continues to grow so we never have to repeat lessons.

Time to get moving with your little one! Join other families as we move to children’s music and get our energy out with a variety of large muscle equipment, soccer, bowling, scooters and rollerskates.

Even if you’ve never held knitting needles, you can learn the basics of knitting including cast-on, knit, purl and bind-off. These four skills will set you up for success with many different knitting projects. Under the guidance of an experienced knitter, you will combine the four basic skills of knitting to start you on your way to your knitting adventure. Please bring a pair of wood knitting needles in size 10, a skein of light colored worsted weight (#4) yarn, scissors and a darning needle with a large eye.

Brioche knitting is a technique creating a lush, thick and fully reversible ribbed fabric using slipped stitches and yarn overs that are knitted together in subsequent rows. It produces a "squishy" texture, perfect for scarves and blankets and is often worked in one or two colors to create contrasting, textured stripes. Must be proficient in knitting and purling. Entrelac knitting is a technique composed of interlocking squares or rectangles worked in diagonal tiers. It's a style of knitting that resembles a basket weave. It can be incorporated into any item - hat, mittens, socks or blankets to create an eye-catching piece with incredible texture. Must be proficient in knitting and purling. Learn about the fastest game on two feet in a fun and engaging event designed for girls and boys of all skill levels who are new to lacrosse. This introductory course will cover the basics of lacrosse, including rules of the game, equipment, positions and essential skills like cradling, passing and shooting. Please wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. All equipment will be provided. The FLAS Community Pool, located at the Education Center, is a six-lane, 25-yard pool and an excellent place for a morning workout. Pre-registration is preferred.
