Ranger Artistic Swimming Level 1 Ages 9-11

Prerequisite: Must be able to swim 25 continuous yards of front and back crawl.

Artistic swimming blends elements of swimming, gymnastics and dance into a unique and expressive sport. It emphasizes both technical skill and creativity, drawing on movements and styles from all three disciplines.

Participants will explore the fundamentals of artistic swimming, including figures and routines. Figures are precise, controlled movements performed individually in the water, while routines are choreographed performances set to music. Participants will have opportunities to practice solo, duet and team routines while developing strength, coordination and artistic expression.

Required equipment includes a one-piece swimsuit, goggles, a swim cap and a nose clip.
